Welcome

Welcome

To Laureland.

Ever notice how the major story is the same on CNN, Fox News and the New York Times? And just how does their news coverage makes you feel? Let me guess: Anxious, confused, exhausted and apathetic. Was I far off?

I doubt it, because I know the feeling all too well; today’s news is like a race that ends in disaster, and although you have no idea why you are running, you can’t stop.

As we struggle to make sense of a world deemed 'too complicated to understand', the seeds of apathy are planted. We focus on one event or another with tunnel vision, forgetting to look at how events unfold in the long term, or even in relation to each other. Eventually, we give up trying to make sense of the world, and accept the absurdity of it all. Sound familiar?

We don't have to feel this way. News should be enlightening, interesting, and even (gasp) uplifting. It should empower us, not weigh us down.

Laureland is my platform for true discussion, clarity and insight; our world seems shattered, but all the pieces fit together.
